23 years After, Ade Bantu Cut-off Dreadlocks

Born Adegoke Odukoya but popularly known as Adé Bantu has finally say goodbye to the rastafarian lifestyle. The Nigerian-German musician, producer and activist  is known as the founder of the Afro-German musical collective and NGO Brothers Keepers and as the front man of Bantu & Afrobeat Academy Band. The cool dude surprised many after uploading pictures of his new look after 23 years of being a member of the Rastafarian religious movement. He said, “After 23 years I decided it was time to let go and move on. It wasn't easy, but hey the only constant thing in life is change and Sometimes we must embrace it fearlessly”


It will also interest you to know that, Adé Bantu was born in Wembley, London. He is biracial, being the son of a German mother and a Nigerian father. In 1973 he relocated to Lagos, Nigeria with his parents Adeleke Odukoya and Barbara Odukoya. After the death of his father in 1986 he moved with his mother and 3 siblings to Germany but after several years, he returned to Nigeria.
