ABOUT THE ALBUM
The first CD on the double disc album presents Adebanjo and DTWG in a whole new light. They've taken it back to their African roots; you'll be sure to be dancing to the vibrant AfroBeats
and singing along with the infectious African Gospel Praise. So whether
you listen to this as you're getting ready in the morning or in your
car after a long day, this part of the album will definitely uplift,
inspire and motivate you. This collection has a song for everyone; do
you want something that is soulful, encouraging, R & B, rock, pop or Afrobeats? Well, The Vision/The Mission double-disc album has all of this and more!
The Vision behind the second disc is simple: Adebanjo &
DTWG return to sounds you know and love, with this second CD on the
double disc album. This disc features well-known artists such as Keshia McFarland, Osmond Collins, Decca recording-artist Kristyna Myles, Andrew Bello, Adrian T, and Muyiwa of Riversongz (Premier Radio, Turning Point TV, BBC Radio presenter and Recording Artist). Make sure to listen out for the sweet vocals of some of the members of the New Direction Choir in Chicago.
ADEBANJO & DESIRE TO WORSHIP GOD
Sam Adebanjo is the principal of this Urban Gospel singing team
Desire to Worship God and has a passion to see change in the music
industry. “I have seen the negative effect certain genre of music has
had on many people I grew up with,” he says. This ultimately spurred a
passion for "the lost" and the birth of Sam Adebanjo and DTWG.
Adebanjo went from being a Muslim, homeless and trouble with the law, but he found God and made a 180-degree turn.
Adebanjo and DTWG are becoming a household name in the UK Gospel
Scene. It's not surprising with their rich harmonies, soulful
arrangements and contagious melodies. Their songs are influenced by
their experience of their daily walk with God.
Founded in 2003, they have many accomplishments under their belts.
They have shared the stage with Mary Mary, Emeli Sande, Muyiwa &
Riversongz, Sonnie Badu, Ron Kenoly and many others. They have performed
at celebrities wedding’s and events including BBC. It's clear to see
that their music is well received by people of all walks of faith.
Other notable recognitions includes their 2011 appearance on the
Channel 4 show Jamie Oliver's Christmas with Bells; receiving both
a Praise-Tek Gospel Music Award in 2012 for Great Contribution to Gospel
Music and taking home the BEFFTA Award 2010 for Best Gospel Act.
Adebanjo and DTWG have also been nominated for Best Gospel Act in the
following: Urban Music Award in 2010; the Gospel Music Awards in 2009
and 2010; and the MOBO Award in 2009.
