Sunday 9th of December, 2012 will remain a memorable day in the mind of many Nigerians both home and broad as one of the prestigious recognition awards body, Podium International honour Nigerians who have in one way or the other contributed immensely toward the growth and development of this country. Judging by the nominees and those that bagged the awards, one do not need a prophet to confirmed that the award and the nominees were based on merit. The awards was given in 15 competitive categories while some Nigerians were specially recognized which include; Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, governor of Ondo State; Pastor Tunde Bakare; Prof. Pat Utomi, actress Funke Akindele, Yaw and madam Kofo. Sekeola Olowe, Adigun Ashiru, Remi Martins and Street Journal Forum also bagged awards respectively. The ceremony that took place at Etal Hall and Hotels, Oregun Lagos was anchored by popular On-Air-Personality Lolo of Wazobia FM. In attendance were some of Nigeria’s most loved entertainers and personalities including Toyin Kilade, Alhaja Jumoke Rowaye, Madam Modesty, Mr.Akinsola Eni and other Nollywood stars. Speaking at the event, Titi Aboyade Cole, the CEO Podium International said, the awards was put in place to honour genuine Nigerians who are excelling in their various fields as well as making the country proud.
