Scientists are also discovering its health benefits: the resulting rush of blood to the head is better for the brain than doing a crossword, one US researcher recently claimed.

It’s also thought to act as a stressbuster, reduce pain and ease depression, while one study even suggested the greater the frequency of orgasms, the longer you’ll live.

Yet only a third of women say they regularly experience one, and one in ten reports never having had one at all.

But why do so many women apparently struggle to experience orgasm? Here, experts reveal the latest thinking...

THE PILL

Ironically, the contraceptive pill has been found to have a dampening effect. A study published last year by Indiana University involving 1 101 women, found that women using the Pill or a contraceptive patch had fewer orgasms and also reported lower levels of arousal and frequency of sex than those who used non-hormonal contraception such as condoms.

But Dr Cynthia Graham, a senior lecturer in health psychology at the University of Southampton and a leading sex researcher, says this is more likely to be down to the Pill’s effect on libido rather than on arousal - so the link might be simply because women are having less sex generally, rather than fewer orgasms.

Global Excellence Magazine Editor, Kunle Rasheed Speaks On Alleged Libelous Story Against Tunde Folawiyo

Some of you have read about how policemen picked up Global Excellence Editor, Kunle Rashid and the Publisher of Global News, Mr Segun Ogunbunmi on Wednesday concerning an alleged libelous story Mr Ogunbunmi wrote about Mr Tunde Folawiyo? Well here is a press statement from Mr Kunle  Rasheed. "It is necessary to set the record straight regarding the alleged adultery story written in some news mediums about Mr. Tunde Folawiyo. To the best of my knowledge, his alleged amorous affair with ex-Miss Lux, Mrs. Ifeoma Williams, has been a feast for the online media for a long time. This I never knew, though, until my attention was called to it by Tunde’s younger brother, Yomi, a friend, who, knowing I wield some level of popularity among journalists, asked me to help talk to online publishers who had published the story on their blogs to please take them down.  I did not disappoint. A few days after succeeding in taking off the story from the internet, Yomi again called my attention to the fact that two weekly magazines namely Encomium and Global News have written the story, but according to him, Global News owned by Segun Ogunbunmi did not do an objective piece.

It was then I urged Yomi to create familiarity with major players in the media so they would see him as a friend. He agreed and called a meeting with some editors. The Global News publisher, Segun Ogunbunmi, was part of the meeting. We all met for about one hour at a lounge on Opebi Road, Ikeja. We chatted intimately before we left the venue. Yomi later called a fresh meeting and he specifically requested for Segun Ogunbunmi to be part of it. Convinced that that second meeting would further cement his relationship with the Folawiyos, having being singled out based on the story published in his magazine, I ensured that Segun attended the meeting. It was while the meeting was in progress that some policemen banged on the three of us and whisked us to the Zone 2 police headquarters in Lagos Island where they said we were wanted for questioning. Surprisingly, on getting to Zone 2, the police said that Segun was their target, so they asked both Yomi and I to go free. It was there and then that I realized I had been used by the Folawiyos to nail a friend and professional colleague. Meanwhile, I was shocked to behold later how the police had caused a statement to be issued in the media labeling me a criminal that was arrested for criminal libel and that I was only released on bail. For the record, I have not written anything on the Folawiyos for some months. The only one I did of recent was about Yomi Folawiyo’s child dedication. I also caused some of my media friends to publish it in their respective publication. Therefore, I’m asking the Folawiyos to produce a proof of the claim that I have libeled them. With my experience in the last three days, I have come to realize that the intention of the Folawiyos is just to rub my treasured name in the mud. In a civilized world, Tunde Folawiyo should know what a civil case is; as such he should not resort to harassing innocent persons. A good name is more desirable than great riches and to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. On this basis, I demand a full apology from the Folawiyos; failure to do so, I will seek redress in the law court.

 When Big Brother Africa was sold to Africa, many people welcomed the idea because lots of people saw it as an avenue to unite Africans who converge in confined vicinity for 90 days. Though the reality show has been on in many other parts of the world before coming to Africa, but its advent became another method in affording Africans in exchanging culture and tradition while in the house for that three months. However, the story changed when the issue of sex and nudity was introduced. At first, many did not bother about it but when it was done with reckless abandon, the issue became a major discuss in Nigeria in particular; it even attracted the National Assembly which almost outlawed the programme from the country. The organizers, however, promised to be more discreet about the individuals’ privacy while in the house. But alas! they seem to have jettisoned the earlier promise by allowing the nude pictures of the housemate to leak to the internet. According to the findings by this magazine, most of the pictures get to the public through the VIP opening made available by DSTV. Virtually all the housemates have their complete nude pictures on the internet. If one is interested in seeing the sordid pictures and video on the internet, all you need to do is just to click on the shower hour of the housemate; and behold their various bath robes will stare at you. Many Nigerians have been lacing their voice on the issue, to these Nigerians, there is no reason the participants should be subjected to such dehumanization by the organizers.  Some who believe the actors in the house are fully aware before they ventured, but they said if they fail to make it to the finals, they would have lost not only the prize money but also their dignity. Two of the housemates namely Sally and Nando have been accusing each other of transferring sexually transmitted disease because of the unprotected sex they had on set. Another housemate that had sex on set may have herself to blame if the threat of the country’s law enforcer is achieved. According to reports, some lawyers in her home country are getting set to sue the housemate because she had sex in the Big Brother house with fellow BBA housemate Bolt from Sierra Leone three days after the show began.
