NURTW President, Yasin lifts suspension on Kunle Poly


President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Najeem Yasin has announced the lifting of suspension of factional leader of the union in Lagos State, Alhaji Azeez Lawal a.k.a Kunle Poly.

It would be recalled that Kunle Poly was accused by the leadership of the union of been responsible for the attack at the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) rally on Tuesday January 8, where some journalists and many people including another NURTW official, Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo).

Subsequently, the president of the NURTW, Yasin, announced the suspension of Kunle Poly after a five-hour meeting with the Lagos state Executive and elders of the union and also resolved to set up a committee that will investigate the immediate and remote causes of the disruption and attack at the All Progressives’ Congress rally in Lagos.

But, after thorough investigation and consultation, the union on February 14 lifted the suspension of Kunle Poly.

In a statement by his media team, which was made available to Sunday Telegraph, Kunle Poly expressed joy and thanked the NURTW national chairman, Alhaji Najeem Usman Yasin and others who stood by him during the trail.

“I use this medium to thank everybody that show Kunle Poly some love pertaining to what happen to him some days ago, love you all, may God be with you all amen.

“Also, to all Idumota forum, thank you all for your concern and my appreciate goes to the Jagaban of the universe Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the number one citizen of Lagos state, also to Olowo Eko Baba Fuad Osuolale 1, Royal Majesty Akiolu.

“My appreciation also goes to mother of Lagos State High Chief (Mrs.) Oluremi Tinubu, member of Lagos Assembly and Honorable Speaker of the House and his deputy, all the chairman of local governments and the LCDA under the Lagos state.
