I Fell In Love With Fela When I Was 16year Old -Ex-Wife Reveals Shocking Details About Fela

One of the wives of the late Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, Laide Anikulapo-Kuti, Nee Babayale, has revealed some shocking details about the late legend. Though the interview was months back, I found it now and it’s so revealing. If you haven’t read it before, read it now. It was actually a video interview with Trumpet Media Group, but you can read the transcribed version after the cut.
How did you meet Fela?

I met Fela at a Sunday Jump in 1974. The shrine was opposite my house and some of my friends were selling things in front of the place, and we were just there doing our own thing, while Baba was inside doing his own thing as usual. It was the boys that made us know him well. They came to buy cigarettes from my friends, and wanted to take candy sweets for free, and I was a kind of person that would never allow anybody take me or the people around me for a ride. I protested, and the next thing I knew, was that a hot slap landed on the cheek of my friend selling the goods, and that’s how we started fighting, that Fela had to come out. We narrated what happened to him, so Fela took the boy that slapped my friend inside and punished him. After that, Fela sent one of his drivers to me that if I’m chanced, I should come and see him.

In UNILAG, Life Begins At Night

In the University of Lagos, ‘night’ does not signal the end of a day but the beginning of another. From the rapturous songs at fellowship meetings to the wild laughter from the halls of residence, there is hardly a moment’s rest. Most students leave their classrooms and the various reading halls around 6.00p.m. Their next port of call is usually their hostels where they rest for a while and wait for darkness to set in. From this time till after midnight, it is a life of passion and glamour and noise.
Centre of ExcellenceBy far the rowdiest place on campus is New Hall – a stretch of five different hostels. New Hall is the centre of the school, not because it is situated in the middle (it would be difficult to determine the school’s actual middle). Students often call it ‘Centre of Excellence’, borrowing Lagos State’s slogan, ‘because (like Lagos) it is a place where one can find just about anything one might desire’ – a student told Saturday Tribune. The converging point is space between the two male hostels and the three female ones. There are at least three restaurants here and a number of other points where different kinds of food and snacks are sold. The suya (roast meat) point is particularly conspicuous. Male and female students in groups of twos and threes can be seen clustered around the suya seller – or, ‘Mallam’, as he is called.

SUNDAY ARE RUBBISHES CITY PEOPLE MAGAZINE’S REPORT

One of the most respected artiste managers in Nigeria, Sunday Are is very bitter over a recent report by a soft sell magazine, City People. Are is of the opinion that even if the paper sells based on sensational headlines, sensitive issues should not be badly reported to appeal to readers with mischievous intent to raise profit margin.
Are was recently interviewed by a reporter from City People Magazine who quoted him out of context with a screaming headline on its cover-‘How I Made Lagbaja, D’Banj & Asa Big Brands”. He’s very bitter and worried at the extent to which journalists can go to fabricate headlines.
Speaking on the development, Are said the paper and the interviewer do not have genuine intentions towards the interview. “The reporter has been on my trail for the past few weeks since they gave me an award but I couldn’t give him an appointment due to my busy schedules.

Source Revealed The True Story Of Ex-Custom Officer Who Was Buried Alive With Daughter

The bible says, at the death of an upright man his hope does not come to an end, but the hope of the evil-doer comes to destruction. But what is worrisome about the followers of any religion or faith is the allowance of temporary evil and injustice towards others!
There is a common attitude among "believers" of any faith that if they do evil and then repent then it will be washed away for them which means injustice done to others without punishment!
This is common and best described what transpired between the ex-customs officer, Angela Kerry who was buried alive with her adopted daughter.
It will interest you to know that the initial story that was reported took a new dimension when a close source to the family of the demise divulged the true picture of what happened between Kerry and the acclaimed herbalist.
