All The Glitz And Glamour At Tiwa Savage's Wedding

Love they say is a partnership of two unique people who bring out the very best in each other, and who know that even though they are wonderful as individuals, they are even better together. This belief is what best described what happened between popular singer, Tiwa Savage and her manager/hubby, Tunji ‘Tee-Billz’ Balogun when the couple finally tie the nuptial knot. The traditional wedding ceremony that took place at the Ark Vicinity, Lekki, Lagos was like a carnival of some sort as family, friends and colleagues of the couple showed up to celebrate their holy solemnization On Saturday, November 23, 2013. The wedding that could be tagged “All White Gig” was indeed a galaxy of star. The ceremony began with the traditional wedding rite as both families were ushered into the smaller hall of the venue at a few minutes past 11am. Both families sat opposite each other with that of the groom sitting to the left and the bride to the right.
After the introduction of both families by the wedding engager who is known as ‘Alaga’ in Yoruba, the groom’s family handed a letter to the bride’s family officially asking for their daughter’s hand in marriage which the bride’s family accepted. Soon after, the groom was ushered into the hall accompanied his friends, which included Don Jazzy, Banky W and Darey Art Alade. Tunji entered the hall dressed in a white traditional attire (‘agbada’ laced on buba and sokoto) with white cap to match. He and his group of friends prostrated before the bride’s family as a show of respect.
Finally the bride, dressed in silver coloured Aso-Oke with a headgear of same colour to match was ushered into the hall. She was accompanied by her friends, which included Karen Igho and singer Essence.
After a few more rites, the couple were joined together, prayed for and blessed by both families.
Wedding IV
The Fuchsia and gold coloured invitation card came with small access cards for entry into the venue, all packed in a beautifully designed paper bag.
The Wedding Company
No doubt, it was a well-organized wedding by the bespoke wedding design and planning outfit, The Wedding Company.  This was the same company that handled musician Darey Art Alade’s wedding to wife Deola as well as Basketmouth’s wedding to Elsie.
The Hall Was Decorated To The Fullest
The official wedding colours were fuchsia and gold while the hall was beautifully lit with white and orange. Uche Majekodunmis Newton and David were hired to do the decorations of the hall.
The venue
The venue of the wedding, Ark Vicinity in Lekki, Lagos is fast becoming one of the most patronized event centres in Lagos. This was the same venue where Peter Okoye of Psquare wedded his wife Lola Omotayo just the previous week. With its proximity to a 5-Star hotel, Vantage Hotel and the exquisite Lekki Beach.
Choice Food And Drink were Served
There was more than enough to eat and drink. The main company responsible for providing the varieties of delicacies was Morenike Okupe’s Malas Foods Catering Services and then there were other small companies that provided the cannapes, ice creams and barbecues. All sorts of drinks were available, from soft drinks, to beer, spirits, wines and champagnes.
King Sunny Ade Add Colour To The Event
King Sunny Ade and his band were on the bandstand dishing out both the oldest and the new tunes. The was never a dull moment as guest, family and friends are just moving and dancing. As the main entertainer for the occasion, the Juju musician serenaded the guests as well as the couple.
Seyi Law Was At His Best
Comedian/MC who was able to held down the ceremony was no other person than Seyi Law.

Nelson Mandela, The Beautiful One Died At The Age Of 95

Nelson Mandela is not an ordinary man. He is a fighter and a survivor.. When South Africa's White minority imprisoned him for fighting for the injustices heaped upon himself and his Black people, he made a vow that they would not shut him down... they would not break his spirit...they would not kill him by working him to death.

Mandela and his fellow freedom fighters spent a total of (27) years of their lives in prison in South Africa, (17) of them at the notorious Robbens Island Penal Colony where they worked in the lime stone quarry. It was there at the quarry that he began his slow path to death as his lungs sustained irrepairable damage from an infection. Nelson Mandela survived his ordeal as a prisoner and was eventually released from prison and became South Africa's first Black President in multi-racial elections in 1994 that officially ended apartheid rule. He also went on to win the Nobel Peace Prize. Since June of 2013, Mandela has been hospitalized and battling that same lung infection that began at Robbens Island in that limestone quarry.

On July 18,2013, Mandela's birthday, people all over the world paid homage to the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. He was then and still is in critical condition, but holding on. Mandela does not know how to yield. He has been fighting for (95) years and for him struggle and fighting are normal.  Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, the father of the nation died on December 5 2013 at the age of 95 by 8: 20 pm. RIP WORLD LEGEND!!!

Gov. Oshiomhole Apologises For Statement Made To Widow! Says I Made It In Anger

After the video of Governor Oshiomhole went viral yesterday, the Governor this morning apologised to Nigerians and Edo State people that he made the statement in anger. He made the apology today when the leadership of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN), paid him a courtesy visit in Benin.
He also noted that though the challenge of modern times had bestowed on the shoulders of some women and single mothers the status of bread winners of their homes, such should not be used as an accuse to flout the laws.
