FUNKE AKINDELE Denies NEW LOVER STORY

Our attention has been drawn to the lead story in the current edition of the City People Magazine (Monday, 7 April, 2014) and several online and offline publications on our client, star actress, Funke Akindele. The magazine and other publications have reported that the Jenifa star has found a new love who moved her to a private estate in Lekki, Lagos. For the record, Funke has since moved to her Lekki apartment quietly and it will be vainglorious to make it a media issue just as it is condescending to claim any imaginary lover paid for the apartment. The report is not only false but unfounded. The various reports had credited the usual anonymous sources with no concrete basis. Much as she appreciates the concern of fans and a section of the media on this matter of the heart , she pleads understanding as she continues to concentrate her creative energy on her career and immediate family. “In the past few months I have enjoyed tremendous love from my fans, family and brands that I represent. I cherish every second I get to spend with my colleagues on sets because it has been rewarding. I look forward to many more precious moments in the years ahead.” 

She also dismissed the report that there are moves to reconcile with her ex-hubby, Kehinde Oloyede as false. She urges the media to endeavour to follow proper journalistic procedures and ethical concerns in matters like this.

 Now hear this, there is no new lover in the life of popular Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele. The thespian has come out to deny the reports currently going viral that she has found a new lover, and that this mysterious person has moved her into a house in Lekki.

The actress says nothing can be further from the truth and she was just as shocked and surprised as every other person to read the story in the current edition of City People Magazine which apparently ‘broke’ the news.

According to a press statement released out by her publicist, Entertainment Media Limited, and signed by Biodun Kupoluyi, the actress said she has since moved to the private estate in Lekki on her bill.

The statement also rubbished claims that there are moves to reconcile the sunny smiled actress with her estranged husband, Kehinde Oloyede.

She thanked her fans for the tremendous support she has enjoyed from them over the years, while also urging the media to follow due journalistic procedure of checking the veracity and authenticity of stories before publishing.
