One
of the days that popular albino actor Adewale Elesho will never forget in his
entire life was Sunday, 29th December 2013, as he bit more than he
can chew and got embarrassed for it publicly by the on-going President of
Association of Nigeria Theatre Art- Practitioners (ANTP), Prince Jide Kosoko.
According
to information at our disposal, Adewale Elesho, Prince Jide Kosoko, host of
other artistes and other top personalities were gathered at the end of the year
party organized by oko oloyun in Lagos. When the MC anchoring the programme,
Timothy Agboola otherwise known as Ereke ni shop called upon Adewale Elesho to
come and greet his colleagues, fans and admirers at the event, while
recognizing some top filmmakers, he addressed Prince Jide Kosoko as the
Ex-President of ANTP. This, we learnt really infuriated Kosoko and made his
action known to Jimoh Aliu who was seated beside him.
Unfortunately
for Elesho, after he alighted from the stage, Jide Kosoko was also called by
the MC to greet his fans, colleagues and admirers just like Elesho. But
surprisingly, Kosoko who has already been angry with Elesho’s statement first,
corrected the impression given by Elesho that he was not an ex- president, and
further embarrassed Elesho calling him all sorts of names that he would not
forget in his life.
To
confirm the story, Global Excellence
called Adewale Elesho popularly known as Enunjawaya on Wednesday 8th
January, 2014. He said ‘’ WHAT HAPPENED WAS TRUE. Jide Kosoko is my boss; I
can’t reply him on any issue. “Oga le soro si omo ise, iyen ko se nnkankan’’
Just the way he talked to me and I
didn’t reply , if oga Bello talked to
him that way too, he won’t reply him’’.
In
his own reaction, Prince Jide Kosoko said “ it’s true we were together at a
gathering when he was asked to say hello to people, when he wanted to recognize
me, he said, I greet my brother Prince Jide
Kosoko, past president of ANTP. Some members of the association who were there
wanted to react but I told them not to. Unfortunately, the opportunity came for
me to react to what Elesho said. And when he was on stage, he said he was
joking about what he said. So when I was reacting, I said since he could not
see well during day time, it might have affected his brain.
He
continued ‘’It’s true I’m not running for the second time in office but it’s
also true that we don’t have an elected
president of ANTP for this period and we can’t allow a vacuum, more so that I’m yet to officially handover. For him
to recognize me as the past president, his brain should be able to tell him
that I’m the most senior person of the association for now. Apart
from that, I’m an automatic member of the Board of Trustees, and member of National
Executive Council.
The
interest is for us to have a credible election. The issue in ANTP, leadership
is not what to discuss now because it’s in court and there will be judgment on
30th January. More so, remember that Elesho belongs to Victor
Ashaolu faction.
As the year begins with
lots of people engaging themselves in one sphere of entertainment and others,
divas in the make-believe world are also increasing on a daily basis.
