Omotola Emerges Biggest Box-Office Actress Of The Year ...As Last Flight To Abuja Becomes 2012 Best Box-Office Hit

Reports reaching Shokishombolo.blogspot.com indicate that sultry Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has emerged the biggest box-office actress of the year (2012).
Omotola's lead popularity and box-office credibility were put to test when the movie, opened at the cinema. The premiere, till date, remains the biggest premiere of any movie with six packed halls
, a record no premiere has beaten. Last Flight to Abuja also starred Hakeem Kae Kazeem, Jim Iyke, Jide Kosoko and others.

According to findings, the year 2012 has been incredible for superstar Omotola; from being the highest paid actress to being the busiest on locations of big budget movies, now famously called 'the new Nollywood', Omosexy has had a full calendar and bag as well.

It will be recalled that the sexy African movie icon starred in the acclaimed 'Ties That Bind' alongside Hollywood's Kimberley Elise, Kofi Adjorlolo, Ama K, Khareemar Aguiar among others..

Still in 2012, Omosexy, as she’s fondly called, played the lead role in the high budget Tarila Thompson’s movie 'Up Creek', which is still in post production. She was also on call for Teco Benson’s film 'Blood on the Lagoon' also in post production.

The multiple award winner thereafter went on to star in the movie 'Amina' alongside British actor, Wil Johnson, and Vincent Regan, a movie written, produced and directed by Christian Ashaiku

Meanwhile, Obi Emelonye's movie 'Last Flight to Abuja' has also emerged as the 2012 best box-office hit. The movie first grabbed the headlines when it reportedly sold more than 8million in its first week at the cinema!

It later grossed 24 million, thereby making it the highest box office earner this year! No other movie has come close to this record so far.

Tonto Dike To Perform As A Singer At The Best of Nollywood (BON) Awads

Controversial Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, will today, Sunday, November 11, 2012 get her first public performance as a singer at the Best of Nollywood (BON) awards holding at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) auditorium, Onikan, Lagos.

According to what we confirmed from the show organisers, Tonto is set to dazzle guests at the event with her sterling performance. Though her singles were criticised when they were released few weeks ago, but her stage performance has not yet been tested.

We learnt that Tonto is a good performer on stage and is prepared to show herself as a good entertainer and performer.

UCHE JOMBO RODRIGUES TALKS ON RECENT EYE SURGERY

Nollywood actress Uche Jombo recently went for eye surgery which threw a lot of her friends and fans in perpetual fear. The glowing actress has calmed the curiosity of her friends as she recently opened up on her reasons for embarking on the surgery.


"As a child, I had an accident while playing with an iron hanger as a gun and it accidentally got into my right eye. I had surgery then abroad, at the age of 9. This new surgery is more of cleaning and keeping up to date with the best eye surgery, when it was found out that it wasn't properly done the first time, and presently the doctors are correcting it, ‘’ she said.

WILLIAMS SISTERS, SERENA, VENUS DISPLAY AFFECTION FOR D’BANJ

American Tennis superstars, Serena and Venus Williams who were in Nigeria recently displayed their love for the sensational Nigerian artiste, D’banj as they danced to his Oliver Twist song to the admiration of all and sundry.

The curvy Black American tennis players openly declared their love for the Nigerian pop star at Lagos Lawn Tennis Court when they sensationally danced to the beat of D’banj’s popular hit track, “Oliver-Twist,” to the amazement of the cheering crowd.

Speaking about their stay in Nigeria at the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos, later in the day, the celebrated sisters revealed that they were a big fan of D’banj, a reason they went wild when the DJ played his song, during their exhibition match.

“D’banj is not a stranger to us. He is a big fan of ours and he is one of the greatest musicians to come from Africa. We also love his music and are disappointed he is not physically here to thrill us today. All the same, we had fun,” Venus admitted.

“We have always admired and love him. We like his style, he is a symbol of a typical African musician, ‘Serena added with a smile.

She continued: “The emotional experience we’ve had in Nigeria is absolutely awesome. It’s one of the most exciting moments we have ever had in our careers and we believe this visit would “break the mould’’ and inspire Nigerian youngsters who look up to us. This moment will always linger in our memories throughout our life time.’’

These two sisters have really appreciated the support and love their Nigerian brothers and sisters have showered on them within the short time they have spent here.

They said ‘’this is our first visit to Africa and we really felt at home and enjoyed every moment of our stay starting from our arrival at the international airport. The enthusiasm, the reception and warmth are experiences we will like to go home with. We will be happy to be back again.’’
