‘KWAM 1 is not dating my daughter ‘ – Pasuma dispels rumours

Fuji star Wasiu Alabi, popularly known as Pasuma, has denied reports that he and Fuji legend Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, aka KWAM 1 are no longer on talking terms.
According to a statement released by his management, rumours of a rift might have started when Pasuma dropped the ‘Arabambi’ title from his name.
Pasuma recently publicly announced he would be dropping the moniker, adopting the new name ‘Oganla’.
I have my reasons for leaving Arabambi to create my own identity. let me start by explaining the word Oganla to you. We have all been created by God and have our purpose on earth. At every point in our lives we are expected to achieve certain things and no matter how reluctant you are you will surely do according to God’s will. Oganla mean [sic] boss of all bosses’, Pasuma said.
I remain loyal to K1 and the rumour is to create a misunderstanding between us but that will not happen because we are matured enough to handle it‘ he added
It has also been rumoured that KWAM 1 is having an affair with Pasuma’s daughter Wasilat, which Pasuma’s manager also denied.
This is the funniest thing I have ever heard in my life. Yeah, he has moved on to create his own identity but can’t believe people can be so shallow minded to insinuate issues like this. It’s an insult to K1 and Pasuma. Why on earth would anyone even bring his daughter into this issue?’, said Afolabi Oyekoya
Meanwhile, sources say K1 is beyond upset at the reports and may be considering pressing charges against some newspapers and magazines which published the news.

China Warns Citizens In Nigeria Against Maltreating Employees

The government of the Peoples Republic of China has warned its citizens living and doing business in Nigeria and other parts of Africa against ill-behaviour towards their employees, saying it will not condone any act capable of tarnishing China’s image and simultaneously hampering the good relations between the two countries.
Speaking during a session with African jourmalists who are currently on a visit to China, Director General of Information in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Lu Shaye, said the government was aware of the misdemeanours of some of its citizens towards their employees in Nigeria and other parts of Africa, insisting that “we oppose such actions.”
Shaye who was responding to questions by the delegation about the ill-behaviour of Chinese employees towards their employers in the country, explained that the government was currently devising ways of correcting such anomalies, adding that the government had warned its citizens in all parts of Africa to treat peoples of their host countries with respect, obey their rules and regulations and as well live in harmony with them.
According to Shaye who distanced China and the government from “such acts, such attitudes are totally isolated and doesn’t represent China’s attitude,” as he appealed to the African media to assist the government of China in exposing any negative acts of Chinese residents in their countries, emphasising that the media should report such acts in a way that the relations between Africa and the country will not be hampered.
Further, he noted that “improper acts of some Chinese will also affect the image of China in Africa. This deserves prompt attention. Chinese in African countries should behave themselves and promote Chinese culture,” he warned.
In the same vein, Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has appealed to African journalists to give better coverage to events in China, regretting that much of what is known in Africa about China is done through the Western media.
While promising that the government will also ensure the coverage of Africa by Chinese media, the ministry pledged government assistance to African journalists who are willing to cover China or be resident in the country.

Woman Throws Her 5 Month Old Baby Inside Well in Oyo state

20-year-old woman, Ganiyat Salawudeen, is currently in police custody after she was arrested for throwing her five-month-old baby inside a well, where she was residing in her mother’s family house at Alagolo area, Oja Oba, Ibadan
Nigerian tribune reports that, Ganiyat threw the baby, whose name was given as Timothy Odugbemi, into the well at about 8.30p.m on Monday November 5, after which she raised the alarm that she could not find her baby.
After a search by family members and neighbours, which extended till the following morning, Ganiyat was reported to have confessed to throwing the baby inside the well after much prodding. People were said to have rushed towards the well to see if it was true and it was a shocked crowd which beheld the still body of the tot when he was brought out of the well.
On hearing about the incident, the Divisional Crime Officer in charge of Mapo Division, Mr Bayo Ogundiran, reportedly led a team of detectives to the scene and arrested the mother, while the baby was taken to Adeoyo Hospital, Yemetu, where he was confirmed dead. He was thereafter deposited in the mortuary for autopsy.
Ganiyat said she could not also explain what made her throw her baby in the well, expressing the belief that forces greater than her must have overwhelmed her at that moment.
Narrating how the incident occurred, Ganiyat said:
“On that day, I bathed the baby in the evening, changed his clothes and we both went to bed. About 8.30p.m, I rose from the bed, carried the baby and took him to the back of my room window where the well is situated”.
“A spirit just came over me and asked me to throw the baby inside the well. I pushed the planks on the well aside, threw the baby inside and covered it again”.
After some time, I told the tenant living in the house that I could not see my baby. He said he saw me moments before with the baby. I left my residence for my parents’ place at Oniyanrin area and told my mother that I could not find my baby but she kept asking me where I kept the child.
“The following morning, many people came and were shouting at me, asking me where I threw the baby. An elderly man in our family then came to me, cajoling me to tell him where the baby was. Then I told him that the baby was in the well. While some people rushed towards the well, others started beating me with horsewhip, cane and different objects. When the baby was brought out, he was already dead. A police patrol van came and I was taken to the police station.”
Ganiyat, who said she was an apprentice learning fashion designing, disclosed that she was impregnated by one Kehinde Odugbemi, who was already married, and that she delivered the baby on June 4. She added that the man could not be traced until the day of the naming ceremony when he came in the evening to christen the child. She said Odugbemi also came on June 12 to give her N1,000, adding that that was the last time she set her eyes on him.
Ganiyat was said to have given birth to a boy before the birth of the deceased baby but could not get any man to claim the child. The boy, who is said to be three years old, is being taken care of by Ganiyat’s mother.

Apostle Of The Most High, George Akinyele beaten black and blue for raped 8-Year Old Girl In Lagos

An Ogun State-born ‘cleric,’ George Akinyele, was almost lynched by an angry mob for allegedly having carnal knowledge of an 8-year-old girl. However, Akinyele, who is said to be the shepherd in charge of one of the branches of a leading pentecostal church in the Ejigbo area of Lagos state, did not escape being beaten black and blue and paraded naked, by the mob.
The victim’s father, known as Baba Akeem narrated how the unfortunate sexual knowledge of his little child began: “About a month ago, we were shocked when our daughter, Elizabeth complained of virginal pains, saying that she was sexually abused by ‘Baba’, the name she calls Akinleye the neighbourhood pastor. Her descriptions of what transpired between her and Akinleye showed that she was actually raped.”
The father, who was visibly shocked and enraged, continued: “Angrily, I confronted the man. He accepted getting close to my daughter, but denied raping her; I knew he was lying. I almost got the Police involved, if not for the advice from neighbours to allow the sleeping dog lie. Surprisingly, barely a month later, I came back home from work, only for my daughter to start demanding for the type of drug I gave her in the past when ‘Baba’ abused her. I asked her why she needs it, but to my shock, she said ‘Baba’ abused her again. That was how I raised the alarm and took my daughter to the nearest hospital, for medical examination and possible treatment. This was after the hospital confirmed the abuse”, he alleged.
Akinyele who refers to himself as the ‘Apostle of the Most High’ during his early morning sermons in he area, defended himself thus: “We both live in the same environment, and the father is so close to me that sometimes I ask him for help which he always rendered. I’m innocent of this particular accusation-the recent one. The first time I was accused of raping her, I had gone to their house where I met the little girl working on her school assignment. I offered to help her with the assignment which she gave me and I later returned it to her. I don’t know why nobody believed me, I didn’t have sex with that girl”, he exonerated himself.
“This time around, she is saying that I ‘double crossed’ her at Somonu Animashaun Street and had sex with her again. How could I have done that? I wasn’t even at that area at the said time of the rape. Before God and man, I didn’t do anything to her this second time that I’m being accused.”
However following several threats, the preacher eventually admitted committing the ‘unholy act’ with the infant girl once.
Confirming Elizabeth’s rape, the resident doctor of the hospital where she was treated disclosed that, “she was brought here by her father and I can confirm she is okay now. I’m just appalled by how the accused man was treated. If care was not taken, he could have been lynched. I’m against jungle justice no matter the level of crime committed”, the doctor added.
If not for the timely arrival of policemen attached to the Ejigbo police station, the alleged child rapist could have been lynched after the mob heard him admit to the heinous and dastardly act.
The doctor however disclosed that due to the victim’s twin ailments of ulcer and diabetes, he couldn’t be detained for long and was subsequently released by the police on medical grounds.

The Nigerian pop singer has refused to open up on her relationship with the Kenyan, sometimes denying speculation of a romance.
After Prezzo travelled all the way from Kenya to Nigeria, apparently to ask Goldie to forgive him for his behaviour in the Big Brother Stargame house, the duo were spotted in Kenya at the Channel O ‘O News Live‘ launch in Kenya.
They also got tongues wagging when they attended late Pastor Bimbo Odukoya’s daugther Tolu Odukoya’s wedding on November 3 dressed in matching blue traditional wear.
Last night, they again attended yet another event together – the Channel O ‘Hollywood Style House Party‘ held in Lekki, Lagos.
Sources who attended tell us the ‘couple couldn’t get theit hands off each other and looked pretty happy together’.
We’ve also heard from the grapevine that they are taking their relationship rather serious but are not ready to make any announcements for now.
Should we be expecting to see a ring on that finger, Goldie…? (wink).

Did Frank Edoho Re-Marry secretly ??! (PHOTOS)

I put a question mark there because I don’t know for sure if they are married but the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire host recently introduced Sandra Onyenaucheya as his wife. Not girlfriend or fiancee, as wife. He told guests at the unveiling of the new Heineken bottle which held at the Federal Palace hotel some days back, that he came to the event with his wife, Sandra, who was wearing a wedding band.
The couple went public last year after Frank Edoho ended his marriage with mother of his three children, TV gal, Katherine Edoho. Sandra, a mother of one, moved into Frank’s VGC home sometime last year and there were reports that they planned to marry soon. Guess the deed has been done! Congrats to them!

With news reverberating worldwide of Barack Obama’s historic re-election to office following one of the most closely contested election battles in American history, a video released on YouTube hours before results trickled in shows Nigerian Pastor T.B. Joshua had prophesied his historic victory.

The video, released on Joshua’s official YouTube channel, ‘scoanTV’ and his Christian television station, Emmanuel TV, shows him talking about the battle for American Presidency on Sunday 6th May, a time when national polls were still projecting a relatively comfortable victory for Obama. “We should pray for President Obama,” Joshua said. “He should do something quickly on health care because they are going to use this against him. I will not say more than that. Because I see there will be wrestling. The battle will be very, very close. It’s not advice. It’s what I am seeing on the board. It’s a vision.” Events in ensuing weeks, including a lackluster performance from Obama in the first presidential debate, saw his Republican rival Mitt Romney gain significant ground in public polls. Hot on the Republican agenda was President Obama’s recently imposed health care policy termed ‘Obamacare’, a policy Romney had pledged to repeal if elected to office.
Speaking again on Sunday 4th November, Joshua specified his prayer was for the candidate who would promote peace and work internationally to bring unity. “The battle will be very, very close… Someone who will come out of the two who will be concerned about peace, bring unity
and appeal to the nations all over the world and not continue with war – that is what the whole world needs now. That is my prayer. That is prophecy.” Joshua added persistent wars would result in nothing but ‘economic depression’.

Fathia Balogun In Hot Romance With Fuji Star, Alao Malaika

The news of entertainment personalities getting involved in a love relationship shouldn’t come as a surprise to people around the world especially in our showbiz environment.

Many showbiz players have dated to the extent of signing life contract. However, the new news that just filtered in from the grapevine that star actress, Fathia Balogun and Fuji star musician, Sulaimon “Malaika” Alao Adekunle are in hot romance is gradually generating a lot of heat especially from close friends who are aware of the union.
We authoritatively gathered that the two gifted showbiz personalities are sailing together on a love boat at the moment. Their romance is waxing stronger by the day although our sources maintained that both Malaika and Fathia have been friends for many years, however they moved to the next level by singing love tunes to each other’s ears.

Many could not come to terms with the romance because it is a known fact that before now, the fuji artiste was in a love relationship with Fathia’s younger colleague, Sikiratu Sindodo.

The love affair between Malaika and Sindodo weathered a storm not too long ago when the latter took ill that almost terminated her life. After she survived the illness with Malaika standing firm by her side through the ordeal, they renewed the love affair and many thought it would last forever- at least for now.

But before anyone knew what was happening, the good-looking fuji star decided to embark on a love journey with the pretty ex-wife of Saidi Balogun.

It was also gathered that both Malaika and Fathia have been friends while Saidi Balogun was her husband but since Fathia’s marriage crashed, she has been searching for a companion.

We gathered that Alao Malaika has been her confidant and adviser. Besides, their relationship is very cordial as we learnt. As a result of the relationship, Fathia Balogun has linked the Fuji Music star with some shows in Ikorodu, where the actress resides. In fact, it was learnt that Fathia Balogun invited Malaika to perform at her son’s birthday last month which was held in Ikorodu. Though, the pretty actress has not said anything in the press since the rumour started but Malaika has opened up that Fathia Balogun has been her friend since she was dating Saidi Balogun.

“Well, Fathia Balogun has been my friend since. She is my friend till now, Malaika said.

Meanwhile, since Saidi and Fathia parted ways years back, many moves have been made to reconcile them but all have proved abortive. Fathia has been linked with Corporate Pictures boss after she separated from Saidi Balogun. She has also been under pressure to settle down with a man which we learnt has been the objective to hook up with the Fuji Star, Alayeluwa Malaika.

Nevertheless, Malaika’s romance with actress, Sikiratu Sindodo has been on for almost five years now. And, he has not also denied it in the press. We gathered that Fathia Balogun’s new movie she is working on currently would feature the Fuji Musician, sources said.

‘I wish to remain in Mavin Records’ – Wande Coal denies setting up own label

The rumours have been circling that Wande Coal might be leaving MAVIN Records to set up shop on his own.

But the bestselling singer-songwriter says nothing could be farther from the truth.

Several media had reported the talented singer was on the verge of leaving the MAVIN camp to setup his own outfit ‘Black Diamond Records‘.

However, in a statement released on the MAVIN website, Wande denied the news stating that ‘there have been no such plans’.

‘There have been no such plans, and I wish to remain in Mavin Records. ’Mavin Records is my family and will always remain so. I want to thank all my fans for continuing to support me. We still have a very long journey ahead’, Wande Coal said in the statement.

But the rumours are nothing new. Before Mo’hits packed up, it was generally believed Wande, one of the label’s more promising properties, was seeking a way out. He spent the first lines of a recent single ‘Been long you saw me‘ addressing those rumours.

Now that they’re resurfacing at Mavin, pundits are wondering if there’s more to the speculation? ‘There has to be a reason why he’s the only one being rumoured to be leaving. He has either considered it, or discussed the possibilities with people. But generally, I believe there’s something fuelling all the talks’ one industry insider who asked not to be named told us this morning.

Wande Coal (real names: Oluwatobi Wande Ojosipe) hooked up with Don Jazzy and D’banj and got signed to the defunct Mo’hits records in 2006. He released his debut ‘From Musin 2 Mo’Hits’ in 2008 to wide critical and commercial acclaim.

It’s back to the White House as Obama wins 2012 President elections!

Four more years…That’s how the first black US president announced his victory, winning to stay in the White house for a second term.
President Barack Obama has defeated Governor Mitt Romney and won himself a second term Tuesday, November 6, 2012 after what has been described as ‘a bitter and historically expensive race’.
Obama is reported to have beat Romney after nabbing the crucial state of Ohio. It was however a tight race as Republican candidate Mitt Romney brought on a fierce challenge. Obama made a great head start with a 265 win in the states of Iowa and New Hampshire, leaving Romney behind with a 191 votes.
Obama hit the electoral point of 274 with Romney at 201, automatically making him the elected president. Ohio has a great history for Republicans as no republican president has ever won presidency without winning ohio.
Romney also failed to win in Wisconsin and Florida regarded as battle states showing that democrats were more preferred. Significantly, Romney lost even in his home state of Massachusetts.
We’re all in this together. That’s how we campaigned, and that’s who we are. Thank you. This happened because of you. Thank you’, Obama thanked those who voted via micro-blogging site Twitter.
More than 30 million voters cast early ballots in nearly three dozen states.

Ayuba denies being assaulted by MOPOL officers

Fuji maestro Adewale Ayuba has denied the reports saying he was assaulted by some members of the Mobile Police unit (MOPOL) last week in Ibadan.
Ayuba, who  was billed to perform at the final burial ceremony of Pa Olatubosun Mainde in Ibadan, arrived at the venue of the event later than expected.
There were unconfirmed reports claiming when Ayuba stepped into the venue, he was apprehended by the officers and assaulted until guests pleaded on his behalf.
But the ‘Bonsue Fuji’ star who is one of the directors on the board of the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) the news of the alleged MOPOL assault came as a shock. According to him, nothing of such happened.
I was surprised to read in some newspapers and on some internet blog sites that I was beaten at an event in Ibadan. That is a lie. It will be unthinkable for anyone to order that an artiste be beaten just because he didn’t come for an event on time. Even though I have apologized to my clients over the issue, let me state my unreserved apology once again. The fault was not mine but there is no point over flogging the issues any longer’, Ayuba said.

He then went on to give his own account of what happened:

I was caught up in the traffic like so many other Nigerians on that fateful day. I left my house about 7 am in the morning for the event that was to start by 3pm on the same. By calculations, I should be in Ibadan by 9am, but alas! The road was blocked. Apparently a trailer had fallen and blocked the entire road, making it impossible for any car to pass. The relevant agencies obviously had no answers and Nigerians like me were held in that traffic for hours on end. At some point, I alighted from the car and had to take a motorcycle (Okada) just so that I meet up. Once again let me state categorically that I was not beaten by anyone, not by area boys or any police officer’.
Ayuba also debunked the rumour that he was performing at another show which made him late and thanked MC-comedian Gbenga Adeyinka for his open-handedness in controlling the ‘tensed situation’ before and after his event.

EXCLUSIVE: Rapper Eva dropped from Trybe Records

It official.SHOKISHOMBOLO can authoritatively tell you that the contract between rapper Eva Alordiah and popular record label Trybe Records has been dissolved.
The news was made known by the management of Trybe Records in a statement exclusively released to SHOKISHOMBOLO. It reads:
Trybe Records and Eva Alordiah have agreed to terminate her recording contract effective immediately. Trybe Records’ vision is to discover and nurture the talents of our artists while operating with purpose, valuing relationships with our partners within the industry, and being persistent in creating and releasing quality music. Unfortunately, over the past 5 months Eva’s vision has not aligned with ours and thus, both parties have agreed to separate.
We wish Eva the best in her future endeavors and plan on continuing towards our goal of creating quality music for Nigeria and beyond‘.
SHOKISHOMBOLO investigations however reveal that the label is being modest with the statement. Inside sources told us Eva had since her signing in June been more than a handful to manage and/or coordinate with, demanding for more than what she was offered at all times and that the label was basically ‘tired of her antics’.
She never fit in from the start, always trying to stand out from the rest. She was always asking for more even when eLDee and co gave her an almost perfect platform to blow up‘, a friend close to the rapper tells us.

Eva might look like a rookie but some would tell you she does has a bit of history in the entertainment world. Right before her footling prominence and hook up with Trybe, she had worked with a few other managers-promoters.
Eva’s name was first heard while working with rapper M.I on his debut album, after a bit of running, she hooked up with former COOL FM OAP BooBoo who worked as her manager along with Obinna Agwu. Problems prevailed and they call it quits.
Eva also met up with PXC director MEX who tried signing her to his budding label but both parties fell out after she was allegedly ‘always rude’ to him, according to those familiar with their relationship.

Marriage Is Not A Necessity ...Star Actress, Monalisa Chinda

Monalisa Chinda has carved a niche for herself in Nollywood in less than 15 years she delved into acting. In this chat with Isaac Oguntoye, she spoke on her career, her challenges as a single parent and other issues.

For sometime now, you have not been featuring in movie or producing one, what are you actually working on?
We just launched the Arise Monalisa Foundation and my production company, Monalisacode Limited. I’ve also been working on a couple of projects which are still in production stage; you’ll get to see them at the right time.
As a graduate of Theatre Arts from University of Port Harcourt, was acting part of your childhood ambition?
I knew acting was my talent and passion from childhood and people around me could attest to it, so I gladly embraced it when the opportunity came. I had always admired some of the reigning acts then although it wasn’t as developed as it is today and deep down within me, I just felt this thing could be done in a better way.
Despite your fair skin, you don’t seem to expose your body in movies. Is this due to moral?
Well, we are from different backgrounds with different values, beliefs and styles. Acting is about interpreting your roles excellently and not anything else.
How difficult has it been as a single parent?
There’s absolutely nothing difficult about being a single parent. Besides, marriage is neither a requirement to fulfil your purpose in life nor the reason for life itself.
If a man proposed marriage to you, would you accept the proposal now?
That’s up to me.
Are you in any relationship at the moment?
My dear, there’s something called private life.
How do you manage advances from  male admirers especially now that you are single?
I manage them the way they are supposed to be managed. No matter how big you are, you must treat people with courtesy and remain nice to people who appreciate what you do, regardless of who they are.
Some people believe the industry is now filled with non-professionals, what’s your view and what do you think is the solution?
People will always be entitled to their opinions. Whoever thinks so should ask himself these questions; is the Nollywood you see today the same Nollywood that was there several years back? Are the quality of our movies and technology better than what we had 10 years back?
How do you feel being a Glo Ambassador?
I feel good because it means you’re being appreciated for what you do.
What is your definition of a successful actor?
A successful actor is someone who is widely renowned for exceptional works, someone who effortlessly interprets any role very well at all times.
How do you feel being a star where most actors have failed?
It’s very hard to succeed in a field that isn’t meant for you and it’s also difficult to succeed without originality. I think most actors fail either by going into acting for the wrong reasons or by trying to imitate someone else’s style.
If not acting, what would you have been doing?
If not acting, I would have been a notable lawyer or activist.
Why do people give up in life after  some effort?
People give up either because they are in the wrong field or because they lack enough knowledge about their field. There’s actually no easy path to greatness. If it were easy, everybody would have been successful. You just have to determine where you want to be and give it all it takes. It is knowledge about your field that eventually brings you success. Unfortunately, we don’t value knowledge in this part of the world, but I believe we are getting better.
What has been the major secret that keeps you on the limelight despite competitions here and there?
I don’t think there was any magical wand that helped me in my career. It was the grace of God. If there was any reason I have been consistently engaged and appreciated for what I do, I think it’s because of my gift, and the giver of that gift is God. I simply discovered my love and natural talents for acting, I followed it strictly by developing my talents into skills and God’s grace has been responsible for the rest.
What will you say has been your greatest mistake in life?
I don’t dwell on mistakes and I can’t think of any.
What has been the greatest lesson you learnt in the last 10 years?
One of my key lessons in the last 10 years is that you can’t get anything if your hands are still full with yesterday’s junk.
How do you feel about the success recorded in the last few years?
I feel thankful and grateful to God and my wonderful fans around the world.
Why is it that most people attain success but find it difficult to sustain it?
I think one of the major reasons people find it difficult to sustain their success is because of pride, especially around here. Wisdom always eludes the proud people and it takes humility to be truly great.
What do you like most being an actress?
I love being an actress for so many reasons. It gives you the opportunity to pass crucial and life-changing messages to the society. It also gives you that leverage for influence; how you use that influence is now left to you.
What is the best way to stand out in your career?
I think the best way to stand out at what you do is through personal development. Commit yourself to constant practice and knowledge in whatever you do, and you’ll see yourself at the top before long.
How do you maintain your fair complexion and beauty, despite the climatic conditions in this part of the world?
Well, I think it’s just the way God created me. I don’t have any special routine aside the normal everyday thing.
What is your take on this trend in Nollywood where one person is the producer, director and actor at the same time?
What really matters is the quality of movie being produced. What I know is that people will always insist on the very best, regardless of whether same person is the producer, director and actor. So if the person is good in doing the three, why not?
